NBA Movers: Russell Westbrook
RUSSELL WESTBROOK (Hawthorne, California, November 12, 1988) is an American professional basketball player. Plays as playmaker, and currently is a member of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. He was elected in the 1st round (4 total) NBA Draft 2008 by the Seattle Supersonics. Westbrook was a three All-Star, and three times he was elected to a second All-NBA team.
Westbrook has played two seasons spent at UCLA. In his last season for the Bruins he averaged recorded 12.7 points and 4.3 assists per game. During university career he was known as an excellent defensive player, which was confirmed by the appointment of a defending player, the division Pac-10.
Westbrook was chosen as the fourth NBA Draft 2008 by the Seattle Supersonics. Supersonics after the realization that moving to Oklahoma City signed contracts with him, and D. J. White.  He was elected novices months of December and February. Westbrook with 15.5 points per game in December was the third among rookies in the league. With 5.1 redirected to a different place, with a 5.1 jump sixth with 1:33 steals second.
The only fellow and one of only seven players throughout the league who averaged at least 15 points collected, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Westbrook in February, led all rookies by the number of points (20.6) and the second was for assists (5.9). the effect of his career scoring 34 points in the defeat of the Thunders Sacramento Kings 122 118. he was one of the candidates to participate in the slam dunk contest at the NBA All-Star weekend in Phoenix in 2009, but finished in second place (147,279 votes), after Rudy Fernández (251,868 votes).
On 2 March 2009, Westbrook has his first triple-double (17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) in his career scored in the victory against Dallas Mavericks 96:87.At the end of the season he finished third in the competition for Rookie of the year behind Derrick Rose and OJ mayo. But it is elected to the All-Rookie first Team.
